In plain English
You sign up, we host your data and run the app. You own your data and your clients' data. Apple, Google, or Stripe handles billing, depending on where you signed up. If we break the app, we owe you a fix and a fair refund — not a court date.
1. The agreement
These Terms are between you (an individual or business using the Mour app) and Mour, a sole proprietorship owned and operated by Zen Akhtar (Ontario, Canada). By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
2. What Mour is
Mour is a field service management mobile application with a companion web app for managing your account and a public marketing website at mour.app. The app helps you:
- Schedule and track jobs for your clients.
- Send SMS and email notifications about those jobs.
- Take and attach photos at job completion.
- Optimize your driving route (Professional).
- Send invoices (Professional tier).
3. What Mour isn't
To be honest about scope:
- Not for multi-employee crews with dispatchers. Mour is built for one person or a small operation. If you need crew assignment, payroll integration, or central dispatch, use ServiceTitan, Jobber, or Housecall Pro.
- Not a payment processor. Mour does not process payments to you from your clients. You invoice; your clients pay you however you normally collect (Venmo, Zelle, cash, check, your own Stripe, etc.). When the invoice is paid, you mark it paid in the app.
- Not a marketplace. Mour does not match clients to operators. You bring your own clients.
- USD only. Pricing and invoicing are in USD.
4. Your account
- One account per person. Don't share login credentials.
- You're responsible for keeping your password (or your Google account, for OAuth users) secure.
- You're responsible for the accuracy of your business profile (name, address, phone) — this information appears on invoices and SMS messages to your clients.
- You must be 18 or older.
- You must not use Mour for illegal activities or to send unsolicited SMS (see §8 below).
5. Subscriptions and billing
- Billing follows the platform you signed up on. iOS: Apple App Store (Apple holds your card). Android: Google Play Billing (Google holds your card). Web: Stripe (Stripe holds your card) — you can sign up and enter your card at
mour.app/signup, and manage billing inside the web app atapp.mour.app. Card entry on the web uses a Stripe card field that is tokenized in your browser by Stripe — your card details never reach Mour's servers. - Tier changes: upgrade or downgrade from the billing screen on whichever platform you signed up on. Apple, Google, and Stripe each compute proration on their side — credits or charges appear on your next statement / invoice.
- Cancellation: cancel anytime. iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Android: Google Play → Subscriptions. Web: Settings → Billing → switch to Hustler. When the current billing period ends, your account drops to the free Hustler tier — you keep your data.
- Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. There is no annual plan. Your platform notifies you before each renewal.
- Trial: there is no time-limited trial. The free Hustler tier is the trial — free forever, real limits.
- Refunds: refund requests flow to whichever provider took the payment. Apple and Google handle their own refund flows (typically 48 hours for Google, 90 days for Apple). For Stripe (web) refunds — or for any situation outside an app-store window — email founder@mour.app and we'll work with you in good faith.
6. Data ownership
- You own your data. Everything you put into Mour — clients, jobs, photos, invoices — is yours. We process it on your behalf; we don't own it.
- You own your clients' data. Under GDPR/CCPA terminology, you are the data controller for your clients' contact information, and Mour is your processor. You are responsible for getting consent from your clients to store their information in a third-party tool (Mour).
- You can export your data anytime by emailing founder@mour.app. We'll generate a download link within a day or two.
- You can delete your account anytime from the mobile app or web app's Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. We deactivate it immediately and keep it recoverable for 30 days — sign in again to restore it — after which we purge it permanently.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use Mour to:
- Send SMS to anyone who hasn't given you consent to receive business messages.
- Send messages that would violate the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CAN-SPAM, or analogous laws.
- Store data that you don't have the right to store (e.g., information belonging to a client who has revoked consent).
- Probe, scan, or attempt to breach Mour's infrastructure.
- Resell, sublicense, or build a competing product on top of our API.
- Use the app for illegal services or to coordinate illegal activity.
If we discover misuse, we may suspend your account and, in serious cases, refer the matter to law enforcement.
8. SMS consent (your warranty to us)
When you opt into SMS notifications for a client, you warrant that:
- You have the client's consent (verbal, written, or operational) to send them transactional messages about appointments you've scheduled for them.
- You will honor opt-out requests promptly (the app does this automatically when a client replies STOP).
- If you send promotional SMS through the Professional marketing features (service upsell, customer reacquisition), you have the client's consent to receive marketing messages from your business, and you remain responsible for meeting the consent and carrier (A2P 10DLC) requirements for the message types you send. Mour honors STOP opt-outs automatically.
If a complaint or compliance action arises from SMS you sent through Mour, you are the responsible party. Mour acts as the messaging service provider.
8a. SMS delivery (third-party provider)
Mour sends SMS on your behalf via a third-party provider (Twilio) under Mour's A2P 10DLC business-messaging registration. These terms apply:
- Acceptable use. Mour SMS covers service-business communication — appointment reminders, confirmations, reschedules, cancellations, and invoice notifications — and, on the Professional plan, promotional outreach (service upsell and customer reacquisition) to clients who have consented to receive marketing messages. Mour's SMS is outbound only; client replies are not monitored beyond the opt-out keywords (STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) and the HELP keyword, both of which are answered automatically — STOP is always honored, and HELP returns support contact information. You are responsible for ensuring the consent and carrier (A2P 10DLC) requirements are met for the message types you send. Misuse may result in suspension of SMS sending and account review.
- Abuse, complaints, or carrier action arising from SMS you send through Mour may result in immediate suspension of your SMS sending and your account, and is subject to the same warranty and indemnification terms as §9.
9. Termination
- By you: cancel your subscription and/or delete your account anytime. See §7.
- By us: we may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, abuse the service, or fail to pay. Where reasonable, we'll give notice and a chance to cure.
- Effect: termination doesn't refund prepaid amounts (those follow the normal refund flow of whichever provider took the payment — Apple, Google, or Stripe; see §5) and doesn't release you from obligations that survive (e.g., indemnification for prior breaches).
10. Service availability
We aim for high uptime, but Mour is provided "as is" — we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we don't promise the app will be free of bugs. Status is published at /status; significant incidents are disclosed in /changelog.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law:
- Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of Mour is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. For free-tier (Hustler) users, that amount is $0.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption — even if we've been advised of the possibility.
- These limits don't apply to liability that cannot be limited by law (gross negligence, intentional misconduct, etc.).
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Mour and its operator (Zen Akhtar) harmless from claims arising from (a) your use of the app in violation of these Terms, (b) your breach of SMS consent obligations (§8 and §9), and (c) content you put into the app that infringes third-party rights.
13. Disputes
- Governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
- Disputes are resolved by binding individual arbitration in Ontario, Canada, unless a small-claims court is available for the dispute amount.
- No class actions — claims are individual.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in /changelog with at least 30 days' notice (or as required by your jurisdiction). Continued use after the effective date means acceptance.
